Scouting isn't just for the Young People - there's plenty of opportunities for adults to get involved too.

You don't have to be the next Bear Grylls though - there's something for everyone to get involved in. Maybe you have First Aid knowledge or could help our Young People understand Astronomy. Are you green fingered or are you a good organiser and could help with one of our fundraising events?

Scouting is flexible and all inclusive - There's no upper age limit and you don't need to make a massive time commitment - even just helping with one or two special events in a year could make a big difference.

And what's in it for you? Many of the skills and training available to Adult leaders are transferable and look great on a CV. You'll get to work with some great people of all ages and build on personal skills like teamwork, confidence and leadership. A study found that over 90% of our volunteers believe that the skills and experiences they have gained through Scouting have been of relevance to their working or personal lives.

We'll let one of our volunteers sum it up.

After his first time helping as a volunteer on our recent camp, Pete said "It was absolutely amazing to see the difference in many of the scouts as they were learning to take responsibility for themselves and others for the first time. Having the opportunity to learn those kinds of skills in such a fun, supportive and adventurous environment will clearly affect them positively for the rest of their lives. It was such a pleasure to be able to be there and be part of the experience, I would encourage any other adults who can spare an evening every now and then to contact 1st Cowbridge scouts and get involved"
